I’m Matt.
I am an award-winning school leader, a teacher, husband and father. I have an obsession with learning that has been fuelling a passion for connection, culture, community and studying its associated research for years.
I began my career in Catholic schools, gaining extensive experience in the leadership of curriculum teams and programs, before switching to focus on student wellbeing, student improvement and community engagement. In Government schools I led Positive Education and student support programs working with students, parents and staff to develop new understandings of the needs of young people in the 21st century.
I am currently part of a dynamic Edventurous leadership team at Global Village Learning designing a new model for learning (not just education) in the picturesque Macedon Ranges, Victoria, Australia. A model that is bound by play, exploration and connection - the good stuff!
My dedication to learning and further study has broadened my understanding of what constitutes evidence within an educational context, the importance of dialogue between stakeholders, a focus on growth and the importance of connection and purpose in the communities and spaces we work within.
My work is driven by a passion for change and informed by my personal ‘why’:
to empower people with creativity and curiosity so that we can all create positive change in our world.
I am also a LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® Certified Facilitator - it’s brilliant.
